Thrifty Thursday: Children's Place Haul

Hi Friends, Hi!

New Day Blog Topic today. Well, I did think of this like almost 3 weeks ago when I was shopping for my kids. But finally got to post it today. I don't think I have a whole lot of moms that follows me...but if you Think of this place next time when you go clothes shopping for kid(s). After posting friend, Yi-Chia over there from Always Maylee reminded me that people do have nieces and nephews...Dur! Thanks Stock up for baby shower gifts too...:)

It is near the end of the winter season, and there are bunch of places that are having great sales. Children's Place is one of them. 2 weeks ago, they were having a 70% off sale with additional 20% off coupon code. The coupon code, I got it from EBATES. Ebates is somewhere you can additionally get 1%-20% off your subtotal purchase price. You get a separate check from them. My next check will be 110 bucks!! Its kinda like a bonus savings account. At least, that's how I look at it. I'll write more about that later on another post.

Anywho...this is my video...please watch, comment and give me thumbs up for support! It doesn't have to be in that order...:).

So my kids have better clothes than me. BUT its only because they grow out of them so quickly. They get new clothes every year. Sometimes, every 3 months. For me, its like every 2 years. Yeah Every 2 years, I get 2 NEW pairs of pants and 2 NEW shirts. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit but NEW clothes don't exactly come to my wardrobe. Unless I lost a lot of baby weight or pregnant. Speaking of pregnant, I thought I almost WAS...but luckily...mother nature came to visit this week.  Seriously, I don't get anything new unless its a gift or its the holidays.  Majority of my stuff has been recycled since 2001. That is why I want to lose weight or be a certain weight, so I don't have to buy new clothes. I get really depressed when I go shopping for clothes for myself. My body hates gravity. Everything goes south.  Lazy bunch of asses body

For my kids on the other hands...NO! haha. They are like small mannequins and everything looks awesome on them...if they do fit. Online shopping can be tricky if I never shop at their site before. You see, my kids are tall but very very tiny.

Aubree 2 yrs old

she can wear a size 12 months clothes but the length is too short.
The clothes her age range, I have to either fold up or out. You now matching outfits...I can never get them because she can never wear the bottoms.

Quinn 7 yrs old

She can wear size 4 clothes but the length is too short. Her dresses are either too wide or have to wear leggings under them.

Well excuse me, my pillow awaits. Ive been having horrible sleeping problems lately and I must  knock the F out when I feel the need to. Sorry if this is something you don't want to read but my kids are my life and since I don't have much to show you (in my closet that is) can awe in what they have in their closet.

Until Next time, Stay Healthy and Fabulous!

MakeUp Monday: Mini ULTA Haul

Hi Friends, Hi!!

Its Monday. Nuff Said. But to me, if feels like Tuesday because my husband works on Sunday-Thursday. Nonetheless, I am still not a morning person. My husband works at 4am, so he wakes up around 3:30. Lately, I have been waking up with him. You know the feeling when you want to go back to sleep but can't cause your sleep got interrupted? Yeah, me too. So wide awake, slightly. What to do...oh yeah, post on the blog before I forget.  My coffee, black as you can get and my hair pulled back...let's get this done.

So recently, I have been trying to get more organized with my life. How many times have I typed out those words in the last few posts? haha...since the new year? Well, to sleeping schedule, tidy home, to eating less candy and junk. I also have been trying to follow my blog followers daily or every two days. So if I been visiting your blogs more often lately, that's why. I deleted my past blog reading list and now am only following and reading the current posts of the people who follow me on GFC. Okay, okay maybe there are a still handful of bloggers I still follow who can care less about me, but hey they're life is pretty a non stalkering way... teehee.

Being organized has been giving me the 'who gives a crap' kind of mood. I know, that makes no sense, but check this. Because I am organized, I have less to worry about. My mind is not running around in the small gigantic space up there, because I know I have taken cared of the things that needed to be done. Follow me, no...okay. Well it all sounded good in my head, until I just wrote those words out...haha. Oh, maybe I do need to go back to sleep. This is probably sounds like I'm drunk texting you after a good time.

Okay, well nelly now...lets stop this overly lengthy intro and get to whats on the dang title. The Haul. I'm been covering my 'basics' on my makeup inventory and got some great stuff that kinda are some necessities in a makeup bag while I was shopping for couple friends I have made in the blog world.

I got them E-Gift Cards at Ulta, and got couple more tangible things for ME during my checkout since they are in stock. They been highly recommended in the YouTube beauty community.  Anyways, no more words, more

Organization is Key: Kids Room using Sterilite Bins

Hello Everyone!!

I laughed out loud so hard when I saw the ecard above. I can totally relate, I think all parents can. My kids are so spoiled. They are the only grand kids and nieces on both sides of the family. With that said, they get toys and clothes left and right. Last Christmas, I told my family to not give the kids anymore toys or at least nothing too bulky. We just don't have any room or storage for any more than what they have. Like my last post, I have been in a cleaning and organizing frenzy nonstop. I say nonstop because no matter how much I clean, I feel like I continuously clean everyday because my little divas makes horrible messes in every inch of our 2 bedroom apartment. My place looked like it got hit by a pink and purple tornado.

I just couldn't stand seeing all the pink and purple things thrown up in my lil place. My eye twitched so bad and my aura was just very negative. You know the feeling when you just don't feel motivated to do anything in a messy house? Yeah, me too. So I threw out, stored and boxed whatever that kids lost interest in or not in the stage of interest in yet.

As you can see, I love the Sterilite brand :). I prefer them than wood. They are also very affordable and light weight. You see, I rearrange my furniture every two months. Organizing and rearranging is also therapeutic for me. I am a hermit and I need a change of space when I feel claustrophobic.

Before and After Photos:

Small Sterilite bins are perfect for stacking small toys. Or games that have small pieces. Throw away the original boxes that are different shapes. It looks cluttered. No more tetris playing with boxes to organize anymore. The bad thing, clear see through boxes on high shelves? Not being able to see where things are sometimes. I have yet to label all their boxes, my current labeler sucks rocks.

I had bought two different style white hangers for each girl to be organized. But my husband just hangs the clothes as he reached for any free hanger. That bothered me a lot, so I gave one style hangers away and now they just share one style hangers. (The pink hangers are Quinn's school uniforms.) All books, adults or kids are located in one area of the living room now. Doing so, gave me more room to store their bulky toys, like toy strollers and playhouses.

Two Pink Sterilite storage bins for stuff dolls and noise making toys.

I put the bunk bed up, perfect for two kids with a lot of toys. The bad part, you don't have two storage places (under the bed) anymore.

They used to have a play area in the kitchen, but I moved all that stuff back in their room.  If I don't feel like cleaning, which happens often. I just throw their things in their room or tell them "Anything you see that's pink or purple, put it in your room...NOW!".

My place is an add-on unit to a house. So there's still a window in the room dividing the kitchen. But now its a perfect place to hang dress up clothes for the girls.

I gave my mom this bulky pink and white toy chest for her house, when the kids visit. I don't recommend this toy chest (Fisher Price) at all, its a space hogger and the lid is a nuisance. It used to be the chest where the kids had their dress up clothes, but it was hard to get to them because the lid was too heavy/bulky. I moved their shoes in their room, it used to be in a narrow hallway.

Its still work in progress, I keep jumping to room to room. Do you got any cleaning or organizing ideas you like to share? Once I have more money saved up, I am going to apply these ideas from Pinterest to my home.

Until next time, Stay Healthy and Fabulous!

MakeUp Monday: MAC Haul

Hi Friends Hi!!

Couple months ago, I looked around my place. Then I told myself that since I will be staying at this place a lot longer than expected, I should finally get comfortable and unpack. That means to take things out of boxes and put them out in display after 6 years of waiting to move out. Staying at my current place was suppose to be temporary but moving out of here is a lot harder than expected. My husband just does not want to move. I get it though, because we probably moved about 4 times in 4 years before our current place and money will be tight.  Moving; packing or unpacking is a big pain in the arse.

In the process of "unpacking", I have been cleaning out my bedroom and makeup drawers. With that being said, I have tossed out a lot of old clothes, makeup, lotions, bras and even thongs (definitely things that I wouldn't be using after having kids)...anything that I haven't used or worn for about a year.  Everything that I was hoarding for the past 10 years, had to go. 10 year old makeup? Yes, I know, gross...but I just couldn't let go of the things that I have bought since I had my very first job. Anywho, with strong will power, I told myself "Out with the old and In with the New and start with a clean slate and declutter.
With a lot of empty little drawers that was once packed with makeup, I went shopping.  This is my recent MAC makeup haul to start up fresh for the days I wear makeup. I would say daily, but I honestly do not wear makeup every day.

Macy is everywhere and my stuff came from all the way from Tennessee.
Not getting any younger...pores are horribly noticable.
For eyeshadow Base
Another attempt to find a gel liner that doesn't crease and suck.
Eye shadow for blending
What it looks like with cap on
Ruby Woo
Front Face
2 Mac Lip Pencils
in Boldly Bare and Redd (for Nude and Red Lips)
I used everything on my face
Lip Combo (Redd Lip Pencil and Ruby Woo Lipstick) LOVE!!

Family Outings: Aquarium of the Bay/ Pier 39

I really hate dislike winter time, especially for my kids. The weather is so harsh on their delicate porcelain skin. Nah, they have skin of a rice paddy farmer pickers...just like their momma. lol. During Quinn's winter break, the whole family was cooped up indoors sick. We had planned on going skiing sledding up in the mountains day after Christmas, but being under the weather kept us indoors. When I saw that the kids were feeling better, I decided on looking for something to do outside of the house, but indoors.

I was not having any luck searching on Google, so I stopped to check my email. Few times a week, I get a emails from Livingsocial and Groupon on discounted price specials in cities around where I live. In a Groupon email, one of the daily specials was a year membership for Aquarium of the Bay. The Aquarium of the Bay membership retail price is $100 for Family Plus but through Groupon, I got my Family Plus membership for $49.

I have never been to this aquarium, but I couldn't pass up this deal. I was thinking for $49, its like a 1 day pass for a family of 4 plus 1. If I didn't like the place, at least it was money well spent just to see what the aquarium has to offer. We also did pay $3 less than the regular entrance fee. If we wanted to go again this year, we get to get in for free after the first visit. Keep in mind that Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco, so we need to pay for the $5 toll to cross the bay bridge and $15 for parking.  So the first trip there costs $70, but visits after that...around $20.

Aquarium of the Bay is quite small. It wasn't that crowded on the Friday we went on. It takes less than a hour to see all the animals. The 7 yr old, Quinn didn't get too excited about being there at all.  It was like pulling teeth to get a smile out of her. The 2 year old, Aubree on the other hand grabbed my hand to all the tanks and wanted to look at all the different species that the aquarium had.

The photos below are what I captured:

Center Level (Discover the Bay):

Under Ground Level (Under the Bay):

Top Level (Touch the Bay): is touch and feel area. You are able to touch starfish and mini stingrays. There are bees and lizards on this level. I didn't take any pictures on this floor because I was holding up the kids to look and feel.

The outing to the aquarium itself was a okay...5 of 10 honestly. The other kids there were making me crazy and because there is not a lot of space between me and them...make me more bonkers than ever. I'm not saying that my kids are perfect...but pretty close. There are some parents who are clueless and just should not have kids if they are not going to watch them in public. I think there should be a citizens arrest kind of a ticket where others can give to other parents for being morons. I would go back there again, just because I am able to go there for free from now on.  I dont think I will be renewing my membership next year.

After the Aquarium:

The best thing about this trip was the location. It is located on Pier 39 and near Fisherman's Wharf. After the aquarium, we looked around the pier. We had lunch at Hook & Cook. Clam Chowder Bread Bowls were so yummy.

We shared a bucket of mini donuts at Trish's Mini Donuts, not gonna say in what order we got the foods...just say, we got more sweet tooths in the family than clam chowder lovers.

Thank you for visiting my blog! I appreciate the new followers to the blog as well.  Tell me what you parents do for your kids on cold winter's day. Until next time, Stay Healthy and Fabulous!!
